Informing research • Fostering community • Advocating for LC sufferers
The ILLInetPARATROOPers is a group of Long COVID sufferers participating in the RECOVER research initiative. We came together to help the scientists and medical professionals working to understand Long COVID (LC) by informing their research and providing input on the design and implementation of the study and clinical trials based on our lived experience.
Our name
The ILLInet in our name stands for the network of health systems and community-based organizations in Illinois.
The PARATROOPers part of our name is an acronym formed from the phrase PARticipAnT Research wOrk grOuP. We chose this name because we see ourselves as paratroopers on the front lines of the fight to understand, treat, and prevent Long COVID.
